Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping Participates in National Maritime Symposium

The Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping participated in the National Maritime Symposium hosted by the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority on Monday, November 3, 2025. The event brought together key public and private sector stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping Saint Lucia’s maritime and logistics landscape.

As a newly established organization representing the island’s shipping and logistics community, the Chamber seeks to unite ship agents, port operators, customs brokers, logistics providers, and other industry players to strengthen collaboration and advocacy across the sector.

During the symposium, stakeholders highlighted the need for greater coordination in addressing existing gaps within the maritime industry and recognized the Chamber’s role in facilitating collective progress.

Tariq Khan, Chief Executive Officer of the Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping, emphasized the importance of the Chamber’s mission, stating:

Shipping is the invisible engine of global trade — it connects nations, drives economies and keeps the world moving. Here in Saint Lucia, our Chamber exists to ensure that this vital sector receives the attention, coordination, and advocacy it deserves.

The Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping will be officially launched in the coming weeks. The organization looks forward to engaging with partners across the maritime and logistics sectors to strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth and development in Saint Lucia’s blue economy.
