Charting Saint Lucia’s Maritime Future

Saint Lucia Attends the 22nd Caribbean Shipping Executives’ Conference 2024

Saint Lucia was among the attendees at the 22nd Caribbean Shipping Executives’ Conference (CSEC) 2024, hosted by the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA). The annual event convened regional shipping executives, port authorities, and maritime stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the Caribbean’s maritime and logistics sector.

Attendance at the conference formed part of preliminary efforts to research and inform the establishment of the Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping (SLCS), which was formally constituted in April 2025 and is preparing for its official launch. Participation in this regional forum provided valuable insights into shipping administration, port operations, and maritime sustainability, offering guidance for shaping the Chamber’s foundational direction.

CSEC 2024 explored key themes such as supply chain resilience, digital transformation, and sustainable shipping, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in strengthening the region’s maritime network.

The Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping aims to build on these learnings as it continues its formation process, working toward enhancing Saint Lucia’s engagement within the Caribbean shipping community and supporting a sustainable, connected maritime future.
