SLCS Strengthens International Maritime Connections at Posidonia 2026
The Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping (SLCS) was proud to represent Saint Lucia’s maritime sector at Posidonia 2026, one of the world’s leading international shipping exhibitions, held in Athens, Greece, from 1–5 June 2026.
The event brought together thousands of maritime professionals, industry leaders, service providers, policymakers, and innovators from across the global shipping community, providing a valuable platform for networking, collaboration, and industry engagement.
The Saint Lucian delegation consisted of Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage; Chief Executive Officer of the Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping, Tariq Khan, and Chamber Consultant, George Michanitzis.
Throughout the exhibition, the delegation engaged with a diverse range of stakeholders to explore opportunities that can support the continued growth and development of Saint Lucia’s shipping, logistics, and maritime services sector.
A notable highlight of the event was Saint Lucia’s inclusion among a select group of specially invited guests to attend the official opening ceremony, reflecting the growing recognition of the country’s maritime sector within the international shipping community.
Participation in international events such as Posidonia forms an important part of the Chamber’s commitment to advancing the interests of Saint Lucia’s maritime community. Through engagement with key industry stakeholders and the cultivation of new relationships, the Chamber continues to identify opportunities that can strengthen the sector, encourage collaboration, and enhance Saint Lucia’s position within the regional and global maritime landscape.
As Posidonia 2026 concludes, the Saint Lucia Chamber of Shipping looks forward to building on the connections established during the exhibition and transforming these discussions into meaningful partnerships that contribute to the long-term growth and development of Saint Lucia’s maritime sector.
The Chamber remains committed to fostering collaboration, advocating for the industry, and creating opportunities that support a resilient, sustainable, and globally connected shipping and logistics sector.
